While equality between men and women in the workforce has seen improvements in some areas, other fields leave plenty of room for improvement. In technology-related jobs, women are a distinct minority.
In fact, the percentage of computing jobs held by women has fallen over the last couple decades. In the U.S., only 11 percent of engineers and only 26 percent of coders are women.
But it gets worse.
Women actually leave tech jobs at higher rates than men do. Despite the grim statistics, women are the lead adopters of technology, which is a clear incentive to hire more of them.
